Egmond aan Zee is a popular seaside resort on the North Holland coast. It offers a perfect combination of beach, dunes, sea, and forests. Tips for great day trips

Egmond aan Zee offers interesting activities for everyone. ZeeParel made a short list of sights and attractions:

  • Visit the jan van Speijck lighthouse: open for visitors on Friday nights, during July and August. Group visits by appointment only.
  • Experience the flower bulb route (20 or 40 kilometer routes) and enjoy the colourful bulb fields in the Egmond area. Do not forget to purchase a dune ticket!
  • Go for a guided tour through Egmond Abbey; the most significant Benedictine abbey in the north of Holland. This guided tour shows you around the pottery, museum, and church.
  • Visit the city of Alkmaar by bike, car or public transport. Don’t forget to attend the traditional cheese market at the Waag on Friday morning (March through September).
  • Watch the seals in Sea Aquarium Bergen! Fun for all ages, and just a thirty-minute bike ride through the impressive dunes connecting Egmond and Bergen.
